Dersu Saral (d. 2000) is a mixed-media artist. She lives in Istanbul. She is a Koç University student majoring in Media and Visual Arts and she uses photography, painting, installation and sculpture as her medium. She uses autobiographical elements to illuminate subjects such as gender, body, death, sensuality. She prioritizes artistic research above the art object in her practice. Saral documents personal and collective experiences and the reactivity it creates on “self”. She opened her first guerrilla exhibition in 2023, exploring performative experiences in public space. She is currently doing research on conceptual art and experimenting with new mediums.
